    The Rainbow = “SERENDIPITY”

Rainbows have vast cultural, religious, and psychological implications. They announce that the storm is past and offer a gateway to somewhere obviously special, right up there in the sky, a glittering gateway offering us every color in the spectrum. “There’s a land that I dream of,” sang Judy Garland yearningly and we sang and yearned right along with her.

Rainbows have their head in the heavens and their feet lost somewhere on earth; sheltering a “pot of gold” or so they say. But if you soar through their beckoning gates obviously you will have to leave the gold behind. Rainbows are clearly magic, yet everyone, even skeptics, even the unimaginative, can see them. This Rainbow is a gateway to whatever we desire, if we just could figure out what it is. There’s nothing earthly about the transcendence that it promises. We’re even a little afraid of it. We’re not ready for it YET. But we’re so, so glad it’s there. Just like Serendipity itself.

What role does luck and chance play in our lives? We are all familiar with the phrase, “The harder I work the luckier I get.” But how about chance? Chance seems to determine who will be our mate, for one thing! True, we often strategize about putting ourselves in the “right place at the right time” and we want the same thing for our kids, otherwise there wouldn’t be this deadly serious skirmishing over “the right pre-school.” We are very aware of “unlucky accidents” and try to prevent those as best with can with a seatbelt and a multi-vitamin; even those of us who smoke and gamble know that much.

But sometimes we don’t value “good luck”, especially if it’s completely unexpected. Do we feel it’s “undeserved?” If we have children who sleep easily or get good grades do we just take that for granted while focusing on “what’s wrong?” How about our own health and good looks – not to mention the love we feel around us — are those things only “treasured” when they’re gone? I think of the woman who said she doesn’t focus on whether a glass is half empty or half full but instead on who’s going to drink it and whether she will get any?

We need more than beauty, more than strategy, more than alliances. We need Good Luck. Serendipity is Chance. What are the odds you would walk into that grocery store, check a disused social media account, return an item, misdial a call? Our whole lives seem to be comprised of Lucky Accidents and Near Misses.

Yes, we try to learn from them, but we are spooked as well. It’s enough to make a person superstitious, because, How can you engineer happy fortune? This way: “The harder you work the luckier you get.”

Be there. In the right place at the right time. When you’re looking for a soulmate it’s like looking for a job – it helps if everybody knows about it. Let’s widen our opportunity to Get Lucky.

      Serendipity

      All art’s
      “Controlled Accident” –
      Maybe Love is also –
      You plus God plus
      Fate:
      Equals serendipity –
      Give up power steering
      Float – Dream – Surrender
      Unto the skid

    1. The Language of Butterflies – Walking the Path of Attachment with Alysse Aallyn

      Peace=SERENITY “Everything Will Work Out”

What does it mean to have confidence in the future? We know the most attractive thing about others is “confidence.” Unfortunately, confidence can be faked, so there are a lot of people who believe that’s all it is: a shiny shop window. But if the goods don’t match the advertising, frustration and anger sets in.

We’re looking for the long-term – immortality in fact – which can be achieved by two souls in perfect synch. We want to exude not just confidence but serenity. We want to be the person it’s peaceful and re-charging to be around because THAT person is VERY attractive.

That kind of serenity and confidence comes from communing with the eternal. Yes, you’re going to have to “iron out” your philosophy BEFORE you find your soulmate. Christians satisfy themselves by getting to know God. Buddhists bathe in eternity itself. Karma is the “vibe” you send – if it is a peaceful one, it will come back to you.

Peace is the absence of strife; a sense of repletion and comfort. It is less active than joy, and people are actually afraid of it, the way they’re afraid of heaven. If everything’s already achieved, then isn’t hope dead? That’s why they stir things up by taking pokes at people. Develop a concept of “peace”. A related concept is “plenty” and another is “enough.”

When you are not actively looking for attachment, when you are feeling “enough”, people flock to you. It is because of that very sense of being “at peace” with yourself. Others want that sense for themselves, they are intensely attracted to a peaceful aura, which comes across as confidence, even if you haven’t got a single accomplishment to brag about. People like that are a relief…a relaxation…a vacation to be around.

Can a sense of peace be “faked”? Obviously not. Time – and it doesn’t take much time – will fast reveal the truth. Much less trouble to cultivate ACTUAL peace. How do we do that? Through the calming disciplines of mindfulness, yoga and gratitude cultivation. If we can demonstrate that we are open to joy, people inevitably desire what we have.

We are creatures of hope. If we sharpen ourselves against others as if they were cuttle bones, isn’t the absence of effort an absence of self-definition? We would just sink back into the undifferentiated mass of persons as into a heavenly cloud, all light, without defining shadow. Stop worrying! This is just “semantics” because Peace makes no sense without love and love is active. Harmony is desirable; disharmony is not. Listening to a cacophony is wearisome after the first few seconds, while harmonics, however subtle and complex, produce feelings of rightness, joy and Peace.

What if we lose confidence and serenity?
Doubt is human. Uncertainty is human. We armor ourselves with our belief in the promises of the eternal.

But isn’t doubt disabling? At what point can we just relax? Most Americans think confidence comes from a track record of rewarded accomplishments. In pursuit of a soulmate, let’s imagine you in conversation with a stranger. As you’re wondering about them and trying to get to know them, you rapidly realize that spouting your resume and listening while they brag is NOT, actually, informative communication. What you really want to do is get a “feel for the other person’s “essence.”

Are they “itchy? Restless? Or are they yearning for peace? If so, you can work with that! Experiment by “relaxing together.”

        Soulstice

In this the Purgatory of the year
the crystal cracks the future clear
        The fire maple stands unleaved
        And stalks the bony breast of earth bereaved;
The sap within the corpse unseen
        Boils up a ready dynamo of green;
The fetal fish child stirs and yawns
        An equinoctial birthday dawns.
This is the zero hour when
Our future dances with its end
        This winter music, echoless
Raised up the chalice that is Us
He gives, we are the offerings
Unto the center and the focus of all things.

      1. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

        Homing – Forgiveness –
Do you dream of home? What’s “home” to you? Sometimes we dream of a home that no longer exists, or never existed. DreamTherapy posits that “home” represents the state of psychic absolution where all mistakes are forgiven and fall away from us. We are cleansed. We dream of ultimate understanding where our sins are not too terrible to be entirely forgotten. Jesus suggests to us that state will never arrive until we learn to be the “forgivers”. Obviously, this means we must learn – somehow – to forgive ourselves.

What Does It Mean to “Re-set”? – We don’t wish to be free of “consequences”. We want to learn and grow from our mistakes but not be humiliated and punished for them. Pretending they didn’t happen doesn’t free us. Seeing our mistakes as moves in a dance we all contribute to frees us from painful rumination and helps explain how the search for blame becomes a prison. “I did this because you –“… Human interactions are a tar-pit in which we trap and tar ourselves. We realize we need to forgive every chain in the event pattern if we are ever to have any peace.

Challenge – Robert Frost defines “home” as a place where, when you show up, they have to take you in. Defining “they” defines your group, your tribe, your original home. Philosophy may provide an answer. Buddhists see history as a circle, Christians as a spiral. Ask these questions of your Dream Journal: which direction is the spiral headed and do we have time to learn what we need to know before there’s a cataclysm? Can you define the mess we’re all in and intuit your behavioral contribution? Is it possible to detach from the mess? Can you find a group – or even a moment (say, in yoga class) where you detach from the mess?

Danger – Mixed up about “ultimate” right and wrong? Lots of atheists feel ”condemned” anyway. Think it through. One avenue leads to health, dignity and growth; the other leads in the opposite direction. Don’t make the mistake of “fundamental attribution error” either. Martin Luther King Jr. made a wise comment that the type of government capitalism desires is “socialism for the rich and rugged individualism for the rest of us.” It certainly suits corporations to lecture their employees on building a better world without incorporating any of those ideas into the bigger picture, where we have no control and they have absolute freedom. It is important that our resistance not embitter us.

Opportunity – Forgiveness doesn’t require ignoring the past or accepting bad behavior. It’s part of an interaction where forgiveness is requested. Usually there is a recognition of fault or an expression of remorse: “I’ll never do that again!” When the requesting party seeks permission for the suffering to continue, “I can’t change” — that’ a different request. “Home” is not created that way. Hell is. Your opportunity is to point this out – if necessary, to yourself. “But if I’m not willing to try giving up my behavior because I think I’m not able to, this pattern will continually get worse.” And make an intelligent choice. “If it gets really bad I can always commit violence” is not an intelligent choice, “I need help” is.

Models & Mentors – “It’s not an easy journey to get to a place where you forgive people. But it’s a powerful place, because it frees you” – Tyler Perry

“The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world”
        – Marianne Williamson

“The weak can’t forgive. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong”

        – Mahatma Gandhi

“To forgive one another, we must understand one another” – Emma Goldman

“Forgiveness does not exonerate the perpetrator. It liberates the victim. It’s a gift you give yourself” – T.D. Jakes

        Mantra – “I forgive”

        Meditation –

        #Haiku: Forgiveness

        Returning home with
        New eyes
        Strong hands
        Fresh translations of
        Future past

      2. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

Healing Rituals – Are you a believer in magic? Do you dream of restoration, of nostalgia, of lost youth? The world is a garden. In our Garden, just as the light begins to fade, we observe Tea Ceremony. For the last three thousand years, an infusion of yellow chrysanthemum, wolfberry and honey clears anger and stress and quiets heart and brain. The tea is drunk from translucent porcelain cups with delicate gold tracery. Hot water is repeatedly added until the delicious floral scent is gone. Darkness falls, and we bow to one another before departing. If we can bear it, we touch each other’s hands.

We Cannot Diagnose Ourselves – Healing and diagnosis alike come from the lips of another. It has been scientifically proven that plants respond to kind words. We yearn for the laying on of hands, for the intricate ceremonies that pass us from one stage of life to another.

Challenge – We CAN heal ourselves – in fact, some would argue that the “medicine” will not work unless we “accept” healing spiritually. We need to feel “worthy” of restoration. What are we punishing ourselves for? Open your Dream Journal and think deeply. They say you are only as “young” as you feel. Are we only as “healthy” as we allow ourselves to be? Forgive yourself. Accept change. Contrary to your fears, change keeps us young.

Danger – Healing cannot occur in an atmosphere of self-hatred and self-blame, but many of us are STILL “blaming” ourselves for unlucky genetic, social and medical outcomes. “Fundamental attribution error” consists of blaming individuals for group effects. We are all caught up in the machinery of temporality. Never forget that we are souls who happen to have bodies, not bodies who happen to have souls.

Opportunity – “Restoration” is such a glorious promise that the early Christians found themselves ensnared in decades of argument about PHYSICAL resurrection. How would it work in cases of burning and dismemberment, exactly? It is easy to laugh at these painfully ridiculous theological conflicts. One is reminded of St. Joan of Arc’s response to interrogators at her trial who asked if angels appeared naked – “Do you think God cannot afford to clothe his angels?” Accept the power accorded to you by the universe. Accept the strength of your own mind, the control of your attitude, and step into the Miracle Bath offered you by the world’s oceans.. Healing is not just possible, it is a life-force in which we can all participate. Jesus came to us as a healer.

Models & Mentors – “Healing yourself is connected with healing others”
        Yoko Ono

“What happens when people open their hearts? They get better.”
        – Haruki Murakami

Your body cannot heal without play. Your mind cannot heal without laughter. Your soul cannot heal without joy.” ~ Catherine Rippinger Fenwick

“We are healed of suffering only if we experience it to the full – Marcel Proust

“Maybe the dragons in our lives are princesses”
        – Rainer Maria Rilke

        Mantra – “I heal”

        Meditation:

        #Haiku: Inheritance

        You were born with
        Enough:
        The right to
        Breathe
        Speak
        Learn
        Work
        Eat
        Love
        Heal
        Live

      3. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

Enlightenment – Are you a detective, trying to solve problems in your dreams? Do you dream of puzzles, labyrinths, mysteries, locked rooms? Do you unearth ruins and dig up buried corpses? You long to break into the second level of knowing – you can feel that it’s out there – where the dark falls away from your eyes and you see the world truly.

“Woke” is a jeer from those who fear consciousness. We are all born into a condition of yearning. As children, we try desperately to understand the world we find ourselves in. This quest for enlightenment is the very reason we need to decipher our dreams! We know there is a message out there for us, we also know we have the capacity to understand it, but we are waiting for the lightning strike of “enlightenment” to put it all together.

The Truth Is Simple – Jesus said we must become children again to enter the kingdom of heaven. This certainly implies that “enlightenment” is more a state of mind than any specific received wisdom. Open your Dream Journal and list “Ten Things I Didn’t Understand” from your childhood. Then describe the changes that took place in your thinking that explained those conundrums to you. Then list your Next 10 Mysteries. See where we’re going with this? You will – someday soon –be able to transition into the new phase of reality where those mysteries disappear.

Challenge – Enlightenment literature recommends two things: a good teacher and time alone. Every night when we go to sleep we enter the alone-time of our own mind. We can prep ourselves in advance with some “good teaching”; Socrates, Plato, Montaigne, Eckhart Tolle, Pema Chodron, Deepak Chopra, Stephen Batchelor, the Dalai Lama –savor some of these writings until you get a sense of which one speaks especially to you. Then set aside twenty-minutes or a half an hour for reading (or listening) right before sleep.

Danger – Zen teachers say that if anyone represents themselves as a Zen teacher they are not. Gnostic gospels say prophets asking for money are false prophets. These ideas suggest that the search for a guru is fraught with landmines. This is why I mention specific names of teachers available at any library who will not be trying to gain ascendance or dominance over you personally. Be aware of giving your spirit into another’s care. The sin against the Holy Ghost is the only sin that cannot be forgiven, and it is the sin of ruining or attempting to ruin one’s spiritual receptors. Once that trust is destroyed, it is difficult to “become a child again” because of the terrible things we have known and seen.

Opportunity – Healing is always available. Even when we have been scarred by false prophets there is the magic of universal love and resilience available to us. A variety of healing ceremonials – my favorite is the “miracle bath” and the “laying on of hands” – will reconnect u to the possibilities of joy, love and the insight leading to enlightenment.

Models & Mentors -. “Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.” – Lao Tzu

“Enlightenment is your felt state of Oneness with Being” – Eckhart Tolle

“The road to enlightenment is long and difficult and you should not forget snacks and magazines” – Anne LaMott

“Suffering is temporary, enlightenment is forever” – Buddha

“Enlightenment does not come from the mind, it comes from just being. You are already enlightened. You have to realize it to allow it into your experience”-
        Anita Moorjani

        Mantra – “I awaken”

        Meditation –

        #Haiku: Enlightenment

        Dissolution reassembles;
        Enlightened wave knows
        It’s
        Ocean

      4. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

The Soul – Do you dream of hummingbirds? The impossible flight of the bumblebee? According to C.S. Lewis, we are not a Body with a Soul, we are a Soul with a Body. Our body may be very mutable, but our soul can be immortal. Do you dream of past lives? See yourself in historical contexts? Do you ever have dreams of utter bodilessness where you are totally free, seeming to travel invisibly through the power of your mind?

Accept Your Immortality – Can we destroy our own immortality through abuse and disbelief? Some of us would like to! Many people fearfully, officiously, vocally, and publicly, refuse this gift. But even if heaven and hell are choices some continuation of our will and our energy will continue. If we fight against this, it’s as tragic as battling against one of our talents (“I’m never going near that guitar.”) Think: Who are you harming? The direction we need to travel is in making our own company a reliable, eternal pleasure.

Challenge – What if our mind changes inevitably – just the way our body does? Think about the differences between you, all grown up, and you at say, three years old. Imagine the joyous understanding with which you finally “get” the previously incomprehensible. If you just accept that future possibility, you can enjoy future understanding now. List in your Dream Journal the incomprehensible things you would like to understand NOW.

Dangers – Christians locate the misery of non-progress in “sin”. Buddhists call it “clinging”. We grab on to any passing thing to stay our flight but of course it doesn’t work! The G forces start building up, creating a suction around us, meanwhile we are clinging to some crappy object, or some person who’s on an inevitably different trajectory. Relax. Let those things go. Don’t be frightened by your feelings, just study them, turn them imaginatively into huge iridescent bubbles, and “blow” them out. Enjoy the flight.

Opportunity – Think about one of the parables, in which everyone is invited to a glorious feast. People are so threatened by this, they not only don’t attend, they murder the messenger. Watch the glorious film, Groundhog Day. Poor weather forecaster Bill Murray is sentenced to living the same things over and over and over again, trying everything to get out of these repeats, including suicide. Finally he decides to learn how to simply just enjoy himself, while being as nice as possible to the other frightened, enraged, confused souls around him. Only then is he able to move on to the next level – which turns out to be the rewarding, much-desired love of his dreams.

Models & Mentors – “the living soul, once conscious of its power, cannot be quelled” – Horace Mann

“The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.” – Carolyne Myss

“Without applied awareness of the soul, happiness can’t arise”

        Dada Bhagwan

“The desire to know your own soul ends all other desires” – Rumi

        Mantra – “Love is forever”

        Meditation –

        #Haiku: Last Minute

        Bone grows
        Mind crashed
        Soul merge
        Skin graft
        Intervention –
        Light shaft
        Angel…?
        Laughed.

      5. #Dream Therapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

Spirituality – Do you dream of sunflowers? Mountains? How about other-worldly events? Parapsychological and out of body experiences? Like flying and breathing underwater, these are freedom dreams that tell us much about who we are. Our spirituality is a reaching out for connection with the numinous – something others might insist is not even there. But we feel – very strongly – that it is.

Who’s right? Hundreds of years ago mathematician Blaise Pascal argued that we have so much to gain if supernaturalism is factual, and nothing to gain if it isn’t, so the calculus becomes simple. When you act as if the universe was richly designed by a Carer who promotes Goodness and rewards Love, you create the ideal conditions for human flourishing, whereas, as we all know, pessimism about outcomes dramatically lowers their possibilities and benefits. Certainly one could argue that our communications with each other are fraught with – mistake and misapprehension, but that’s an argument for increased effort and insight and not a quitter’s mandate.

Follow Your Sunflower Path – Turn towards the light. Develop a plan in your Dream Journal that focuses on increasing your ability to tell health from sickness. This will help you find the right path and the right people. Goodness does not seek your diminishment and enslavement – but – the ruthless pursuit of human power does. Reach out to the wavelength you can feel is alive and beneficial in the universe. Bask in its reassurance.

Challenge – The language of dreams is here to help. It allows us to explore our fears and answer Immanuel Kant’s immortal question, “What can we hope?” Jesus focused his ministry on healing and met virulent rule-focused pushback. His life as well as his words teach us that the “Letter” kills, but the “spirit” gives Life. It is up to us to find and nourish that spirit. Once you feel the angels around you – (I picture them as nosing deer,) your fear subsides.

Danger – Organized religion is helpful to the extent that it leaves you free. If you feel you ae being enslaved and ensnared, you probably are. Limiting your potential and demanding money are warning signs.

Trust requires us to follow where we cannot see the path, and so sometimes we lose the path. Sometimes we must hack out our own path through an absolute wilderness. Sometimes we realize even a trusted guide looks for what we can do for THEM. There is no journey that is free of this danger. We must maintain our ability and reserve our right to legislate for ourselves, to reverse course, to tell malignant spirits “You no longer represent me” and to seek out a healthier progress.

Opportunity – We are never alone. All around us are pilgrims struggling with the same things we’re struggling with. Sharing and caring knits us together. Our two party political system benefits from stirring up hatreds to protect itself from change. Don’t accept it. We are not each other’s enemies. The possibilities for friendship and connection are huge, but hatred and anger lead in only one direction.

Models & Mentors – “The world is full of magic things patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper”- W.B. Yeats

“You need not work to become spiritual – you are spiritual. You need only to recognize that fact” – Julia Cameron

“The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and the acceptance of love” – Marianne Williamson

“Happy people build their inner world – unhappy people blame their outer world” – Dalai Lama

“The power of God is with you at all times, through the activities of mind, sense, breathing, the emotions, doing all the work, using you as mere instrument.” – Bhagavad Gita

        Mantra – “I seek”

        Meditation –

        #Haiku: – Spirituality

        We are all
        Planted; connected by
        Dirt; exploding our
        Seeds toward
        Light

      6. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

The Field of Fate – Do you dream of costume drama? Historical characters? Ancient books? Do you consult tea leaves? Are you superstitious? We are all caught in the mesh of history.

The field is too large for us to see it clearly. We can feel the pull of forces too large to resist or even rise above. We use our Dream Journal to track the stirrings of memories both past & future. Those caught in wars, in genocides, in natural disasters, are brutally unlucky. Naturally we yearn for a trustworthy clue to extract us from this maze.

Challenge – Do you see the bigger picture? Were those who fled Germany before Hitler shut it down just “lucky” or had they learned to read the signs? Rulers by whim are especially dangerous, for their brain becomes an echo chamber rotting from within. The larger the council the better – true democracy is best, but even then there are those self-destructive ones among us desiring to “shake things up”; loving chaos for its own sake. They may hope to ride the whirlwind but no one can truly ride a whirlwind. The challenge is to see the whirlwind coming.

Danger – Is the danger learned helplessness, our old enemy? Or is it comfort – we’ve created a prison for ourselves that’s just too cushy and familiar to leave? Sometime the danger is an inability to imagine evil: “it CAN’T get that bad” or “These people are my friends,” or ”He’s just trash talking. He doesn’t really mean it.” Famous last words. Or is it another enemy, panic? Fight and flight are not the only factory installed responses, there’s also “freeze.” Motionless, because we are too terrified to think.

Opportunity – Have you noticed, yet, that it’s always the same opportunity we’re offered? Simply to grow up. Accept maturity. Become Godly; more like God, or as the Gnostic gospels call the Creator, “Good”. To regard each other with the wise generosity of compassion. In order to claim our opportunity we must create safe spaces to grow, think and learn.

Models & Mentors – “We are spinning our own fates, good or evil, never to be undone” – William James

“No matter how dirty your past, your future is spotless” – Drake

“Our destiny is not written for us, but by us” – Barack Obama

“If you can influence, direct or control your environment , you can make your life what you want it to be” – Napoleon Hill

“Life is choice, not chance,” – Jean Nidetch

“Winners fail until they succeed” – Robert T. Kiyosaki

        Mantra – “I choose”

        Meditation –

        #Haiku: Karma

        Come round –
        Goes round.
        Love reaps love
        Law reaps
        Justice
        Violence reaps
        Whirlwind.

      7. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

Ambisextrous – Do you dream of being the “opposite” sex? IS there an opposite sex? Are these threatening dreams or pleasurable ones? Do you dream of the fetish trophies of gender; makeup, wigs, shoes, sports equipment? Do you have frequent “freedom” dreams: flying, swimming? Wake up damp, pulses pounding? Sometimes we want to be our own romantic partner, the subject of a lifelong pursuit. This is nothing but the honorable, deep desire to truly know oneself, to master our selfhood before we leave the planet. C.S. Lewis says we are not a body with a soul, we are a Soul with a body.

Remember – In the Dream, you are everyone. In dreams we confront ourselves, we challenge ourselves, we evolve ourselves. Write in your Dream Journal what it would be like to be your own opposite, your own Desire.

Challenge – Woody Allen says bisexuality doubles your chances to get a date on Saturday night. Anything wrong with that? Nobody should force themselves to perform sexually; it is important at all times to move as slowly as you feel comfortable with. The sexual revolution was a lot of fun, but it was spoiled for many people by a witless prejudice against “hang-ups.” Revulsion and doubt tell us plenty. We are on this earth to hone our “gut” instinct as well as our sensitivities. Gavin de Becker, danger specialist, reminds us that fear is a “gift.” Honor it.

Danger – Most “bad sex” stories when one sex disappoints or violates the other, start with substance abuse, undertaken with a nervous desire to get into a more relaxed or even transcendental state. All it actually does is skip over the “informed consent” part that is such an important feature of identity and will. Predators with a need for speed drug their prey! Afterwards the complex feelings of violation an shame take a life time to deal with. These facts mean we need to study trust before we study sex. What is trust? Safety? Honor? Let’s work on those issues while we develop a free space to evolve, experiment and grow.

Opportunity – Fresh interpretations of gender make this a glorious time to be alive. I can recall when gender was a prison sentence! Now it is an invitation to live more fully, to experience oneself and others more richly, to participate in that fruitful life of which we all dream.

      8. #DreamTherapy – Dream Journaling with Alysse Aallyn

The Firefly – False Love – Do you dream of masked balls? Betrayals? Loved and known faces turning demonic? People becoming animals? Mazes and puzzles that melt and change?

Learn to understand these terms: Narcissism, Narcissistic Personality Disorder – Covert and Overt; Love Bombing, Traumatic Bonding, Gaslighting, Projections, DARVO, Emotional Abuse and Emotional Empathy. Write these down in your Dream Journal. They are important.

You Will Be Offered False Love at some point in your life (for some people, it’s at birth.) Something in you will recognize this, but your conscious self desperately resists this knowledge. Dreams, however, are The Great Revealer.
Narcissists Lack Empathy. They may be sadistic as a result of their own trauma bonding experiences, but that makes them no less dangerous. They long to kill your innocence and joy to compensate for their lack of these treasured emotions.

The Firefly is not the only creature using illusion for the purposes of seduction. Seduction is Love-Bombing. They hop to addict you so that you will stay throughout the coming Bad Times, arguing, bargaining, placating and Trying to Figure Out What Went Wrong. This is emotional abuse.

False Lovers lives in a shifting Potemkin Village of mirrors. This is gaslighting. Narcissists are uninterested in the truth, they are only interested in manipulation; what they can make you do. The main thing they hope to achieve is shifting responsibility for their hopes and needs entirely onto you.

They, on the other hand, are not responsible for any damage done to you (and if they have their Way, much will be.) This is entirely “your own fault.”

Projection is the narcissistic claim that others are seeking to destroy them. Guess who’s REALLY seeking to destroy whom? Projection enables DARVO.

DARVO – Deny: Lies and fabrications follow any confronting.
Attack: They claim it’s you who is at fault. Brings up something from the past as well to try and show you evidence that you are to blame for their abuse towards you.
Reverse Victim and Offender: Says that they have been victimized by you, YOU are the abuser, YOU are the narcissist.

Challenge – Don’t feel sorry for yourself. God put us on this earth to harden Love Warriors for Heaven. You need to know what evil lurks in human hearts, how to recognize, confront and destroy. Just as the deceptive catfish forces the lazy cod to keep moving (and improving!) when they would rather lie sluggishly on the bottom, the False Lover improves our game.

We realize we are part of a very complex universe where wings disguise themselves as eyes and flowers are chameleons. Stay alert. Realize you are energy. Realize others wish to capture your energy and use it for their own fuel. Get smart.

Danger – Don’t become a False Lover yourself. Their options are far too restricted. Humans are more than energy. Real Empathy allow us to live multiple lives – to become Immortal like God Herself. Love is more than fuel, it is living water as well as unquenchable fire. It is more than worthwhile to hold out for the Real Thing. Real Love stands the test of Time. We are playing this game to get to the next level, and you can’t do that with such a narrow view of existence, where all of Creation is means to an end – the end of You, slick and fat, lying sluggish at the bottom of the Universe. We are commanded to Rise, and so we will.

Opportunity – Expand your inner and outer vision. We are multidimensional beings and our emotions – our very orgasms – can become multidimensional as well when we appreciate the historic, the inter-generational, the cosmic ramifications of everything we do and think and are. The marriage service talks about hanging in there through sickness and poverty, and it is a proven fact that people who have been through terrible experiences have a deeper connection. It becomes a secret language others just don’t “understand”. When you have children, you gain the ability to live through them – this is a multi-player, multi-avatar game! Life itself can be a terrible (as well as wonderful) experience. So buckle up! Those who are not alert will be eaten.
